How active is Europe and the rest of the world?
Always been curious which organisations are active in the field of research, publishing, preservation and funding? PARSE.Insight helps you visualise that! Because of extensive research conducted by the PARSE.Insight project, a lot of information has been gained about organisations in Europe and beyond that play a particular role in research. finding solutions for long-term preservation of digital information. Now that this information is available, we want to give everyone insight into which organisations are involved. To make it easily accessible, we used a mash-up on Google maps for creating a nice visualisation.
What does the PARSE.Insight interactive map show?
The interactive map gives an overview of the organisations we identified as active stakeholders in research. The organisations are classified in four types of stakeholders:
- funding/policy
- research
- preservation
- publishing
How can I use the interactive map?
The map can help you identifying organisations in the fields of research, preservation, publishing and funding. Especially, the area of preservation is our focus so a lot of information is gained with that in mind. The map also shows the well-covered geographic locations as well as those with less activity in the areas previously defined.
Notes
- The interactive map is based on information we found during our research. We did not try to be complete and the map certainly misses particular organisations.
- The geographic accuracy of the dots on the map is on city level. The distribution of organisations within a single city is done randomly as we do not keep track of the exact address.
